Imagine your company disconnecting the entire voice mail system. That is what Coca-Cola and JP Morgan Chase did. Furthermore, many other businesses are contemplating the same idea to save money and increase productivity. Verizon reported that 1/3 of office phones had voicemail. Why this phenomenon? According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Millennials will make up 50 percent of the American workforce in 2020 and don’t like voicemail. They would rather communicate with customers or fellow employees either by text or email.

JPMorgan Chase Managing Director of Communications stated the overall savings to the company was more than $8 Million annually. The employees were polled before it was eliminated and voted an resounding yes because they never used it anymore and found it an annoyance! Now that is a legitimate business case for the elimination of voicemail!
